The Crow and the Peacock Feathers
One day, a crow found some beautiful peacock feathers. "If I stick these feathers on myself, I will look like a peacock," he thought. He attached the feathers to his tail and wings and admired himself. The crow flew to the peacocks and said, "Look at me! I am one of you now." But the peacocks saw through his disguise and said, "You are not a peacock. You are just a crow with some peacock feathers." They chased him away.
Feeling rejected, the crow flew to the ducks and said, "Look at my beautiful feathers. I am one of you." But the ducks also saw through his disguise and said, "You are not a duck. You are a crow pretending to be something you are not." They chased him away too. Alone and sad, the crow realized that pretending to be someone else did not make him happy. He missed his old friends and his simple, black feathers. He learned that being true to himself was more important than trying to be someone he was not.
The moral of the story is: "Be yourself. Pretending to be someone else will not bring you true happiness."
