a.      All children have the right to quality education. How can we ensure this right for every child? Discuss the role of the government and the parents in making sure that every child can attend school.

All children have the right to quality education. To ensure this right for every child, the role of the government and the parents must be attentive to make sure that every child can attend school. First, the government should avoid the barriers to providing education of children from every community of the society. Similarly, the government should manage motivational factors for children, including free and compulsory education for every child, and provide required facilities and learning materials for the children.

Additionally, parents should be conscious of the quality of education of their children. They must be aware of their children's learning, help them with their homework directly or indirectly. They should not discriminate in terms of gender to get an education. They can encourage children and update them about the progress of their children's studies by visiting the school. They may not order their children in household chores rather, children must be free from the housework load. Moreover, parents can manage the required materials for their children at their home so that they feel easy in completing their homework.

b.     Do you think that there is still discrimination between sons and daughters in terms of providing education in our country? What strategies do you suggest to overcome such discrimination against girls?

Yes, I think that there is still discrimination between sons and daughters in terms of providing education in our country. Because we still find some communities in our society that do not allow, especially girls, to get an education. Additionally, girls in such communities are confined and considered as a factory to beget children, doing household chores. Therefore, such concepts in society should be changed and we can convince such people that girls can do any work as the boys do. We can suggest educating daughters to make them independent economically and take good decisions in their life and for their society. Similarly, they are aware of their married life and childbearing.

Moreover, their education helps to minimize the mortality rates of the mother and the child. Additionally, an educated mother can make her family educated but an uneducated mother can’t. An educated mother can promote social inclusion and promote good health in the family.

c.       A Chinese philosopher, Confucius, said, “If your plan is for one year, plant rice; if your plan is for ten years, plant trees; if your plan is for one hundred years, educate children.” What is the meaning of this saying? Elaborate on this with examples.

A Chinese philosopher, Confucius, said, “If your plan is for one year, plant rice; if your plan is for ten years, plant trees; if your plan is for one hundred years, educate children.” According to him, if we want to meet short-term needs, we have to plant and farm so we can eat, but if we want to meet long-term goals, we have to educate people. The quote also says how difficult it is to grow talents but the result can be very fruitful. The impact or benefits of growing talents are far greater than growing trees! This statement also highlights the importance of a selfish world that does not have far-sightedness for future perspectives. For example, if we want to buy new clothes, we may do an hour's job, get the amount and buy them, which is similar to planting rice but if we want to change our family and society, we must educate children, which is a long-term plan according to Confucius. Therefore, a long-term plan is sustainable for our lives.
