Nepali Student Migration from 2009/2010 to 2018/2019

The bar diagram given above shows the migration trend of Nepali students from the year 2009/10 to 2018/19. The bar also clearly reflects the lowest and highest number of migrated students.

The bar depicts that the migrated students in 2009/10 were 26,948 but this number has been reduced in the year of 2010/11 i.e. 11,912. The number of migrated students from the year 2012/13 onwards started growing at a slow pace each year and reached 63259 in 2018/19.

Therefore, the present data portrays the increasing number of migrated students initially but dropped immediately in the next year. Again, the number has been increased gradually in the other years. Moreover, the lowest number of migrated students was 10,258 in 2011/12 and the highest number was 63259 in 2018/19.

b.     Reasons for Internal Migration

Reasons for Internal Migration

The above pie chart depicts the reasons for the internal migration of people inside the country. The pie chart clearly reflects the various reasons such as marriage, family reason, study etc. that make people shift from one place to another place.

The pie chart illustrates that marriage is the main cause of people migrating to other places, that has the highest factor because nearly 54% of people migrate to another place due to marriage. Similarly, the second-highest responsible factor for migrating according to the pie chart is another family reason (18.4%). Moreover, the other minor reasons of people migrating to other places are starting a new business, studying/training, looking for work, an easier lifestyle and other reasons.

Overall, the pie chart portrays how the number of migrants increases if people do not get their demands fulfilled. Therefore, various internal reasons cause a change in the number of people migrating to other places.

The trend of Death of Migrant Workers

The above line graph presents the trend of death of migrant workers in different places from 2008/09 to 2017/18. The line graph portrays that the death rate of migrant workers has gradually increased from 2008/09 to the year of 2014/15 making the death toll 1006 and the line graph has fallen downwards for two years. It shows that the death rate of migrant workers has dropped in that two years.

Moreover, the line graph illustrates that the highest number of death of migrant workers is 1006 in 2017/18 and the lowest number was 77 in 2008/09. Furthermore, the number of dead migrant workers are 419,566,648,722, 877 and 1006 in the years 2008/09 to 2014/15 respectively. But, the line graph also elucidates the dropping trend in the number of death migrant workers to some extent because the death toll of migrant workers has dropped in the years 2015/16 to 2017/8 comparatively to the previous years.
