Getting Started

Let the students study the given pictures and ask them to compare them by using a comparative form (positive, comparative, and superlative degree) of adjectives. We add '–er' to make a comparison with the single syllable words and more with more than single syllabic words. Examples:

a.            The elephant is taller and stronger than the rhino.

b.           The gold is more expensive than the silver.

c.            The rabbit can run faster than a tortoise.

d.           The dog is shorter than the camel.

College is more expensive because of the rental costs of living, and learning materials.

c.      Write three reasons why the college workload is more challenging.

The three reasons why the college workload is more challenging are more assignments, extra pressure for good grades, and more activities.

d.     What athletic challenges do college students face?

The college students face the sports and club activities that are challenging.

e.      What should the students consider while entering the college?

They should consider the cost of courses, workload, and different sports and extracurricular activities before they enter college. 

 

C.    In some aspects, a high school education might be more challenging than a college education. Can you mention some challenges of high school education in a short paragraph?

High school education can be very challenging for several reasons. Students have to manage a busy schedule with many subjects and little choice in what they study. They face a lot of pressure to get good grades for college admissions while also participating in extracurricular activities. Social issues, such as fitting in and dealing with peer pressure, add to the stress. Additionally, students are going through significant personal changes during adolescence, which makes it even harder to cope with the demands of high school.
