          A lot of people try to get away from home for a few days each year for a holiday. There are lots of things to choose from and where you go depends on how much money you have got to spend ideas for holidays include relaxing on a beach, exploring cities and skiing. One man wanted to go to Australia but thought he’d never have enough money to get there. He will go to his brother’s caravan at the seaside instead a young woman wanted to go clubbing in Ibiza as she’d heard it’s a lot of fun.

Argentina beat Brazil to win Copa America

RIO DE JANEIRO, (July 10): Argentina got the first major title of Copa America in 28 years after beating Brazil, one of the strongest opponent teams in the final match.

The first medal was awarded to Lionel Messi who was in a blue-and-white shirt. In the match, Di Maria of Argentina scored a goal that put the team in a 1-0 win over Brazil. It was a great tough match for Argentina to get victory over Brazil. Therefore, to win the trophy of 15th Copa America was equal to Brazil. The Brazilian players were under pressure of winning the match but they could not get the equalizer. However, the Brazilian players were more aggressive in the second half of the match. Additionally, it was the most difficult for Brazilin players because of the outstanding performance performed by Argentinian defenders.

C.    We can see many countries competing to host great international sports events like World Cup Football. But, some arguments hosting an event like World Cup Football can have more problems than benefits. What do you think? Write your arguments in favor or against hosting an international sports event in about 500 words. (Page 21)

International sporting events are held after every three to four years all over the world. A large number of people travel across the world to support their team during the event. Some people argue that these events bring prosperity, enthusiasm, entertainment, and business to the hosting nation. Others claim that it could have dire consequences and severe negative effects on the lives of local people. Firstly, sporting tournaments play an essential role in strengthening the economy of the organizing country. Numerous tourists and visitors attend these events to support and lift the confidence of their teams. Local people observe a dramatic rise in the sales of their goods and services.

Secondly, sport is a source of entertainment and fun for its followers. People get the chance to meet and enjoy the performance of their favorite sports stars. Thirdly, it provides an opportunity to meet new people and understand their culture and traditions which could significantly decrease the tension between the people of rival countries. International sporting events also popularise a country to the world and thus the potential tourism industry of this country gets benefits from that. On the other hand, another group of people believes that hosting a world-class sports tournament such as the Olympics or Asian Games would bring so many benefits and potential to the hosting country. The country needs to renovate or build new sports facilities, which means that it will create new job opportunities for the local people. Tourists and supporters from all over the world would come to the country, it will also boost the local tourism industry. Moreover, tourists who come to the country will spend their money on accommodation, travel, entertainment, and food, which means that it would generate more income for the local businesses and the government through taxes.

However, it is often seen that people burst out as their team loses the match which could worsen the situation on the ground and make it a battlefield. Additionally, crowding, acceptable accommodation, and visitor safety are the few issues that are caused by these events. During the 2010 football world cup in Brazil, a record number of thefts and stolen cases were reported. Tackling such problems required enormous funds and detailed planning. Not all sports can attract international visitors and fans and thus many of these sporting events cost a lot while earning a little.  To sum up, I would like to say that international events help in minimizing tensions and create stronger bonding among many nations. The successful occurring of events helps in flourishing the country’s economy and provides adverse advantages to its citizen. However, it also has some problems that can be handled by imposing strict rules of laws and educating people.
