The Writing Process
The writing process (https://youtu.be/I9wygIVAxqg ) is a process that generates a fine piece of writing that is polished from every side. It is a process that involves at least four steps i.e. invention, arrangement, drafting and revising and editing and proofreading. Readers’ satisfaction in reading writing is based on the writer’s struggle, arranging ideas, and selection of words. Writing skill us is required to promote our professional life. Good writing occurs when a writer gets stuck but continues to work until ideas begin to take shape. Writing is an idiosyncratic process because everyone has his style of writing. The more you write, the more you are acquainted with our writing process.
Reading to Write: Becoming a Critical Reader
When we read others’ writings, we evaluate others’ ideas, form a certain judgment, and develop viewpoints from there. When we try to form certain viewpoints after reading others’ writings, it is called Critical Reading. Critical reading is a language analysis that assists to study a deeper meaning. It measures the strength of the evidence and the argument in writing. Moreover, critical reading helps to form opinions, exchange insights with others in conversation, and develop ideas. Critical reading analyzes, interprets and evaluates others’ writings.

Understanding Critical Reading
Reading is a dual process, i.e., writer’s ideas and reader’s ideas after reading the writings. Different reader has different perceptions and interpretations of a particular writing, but a loyal reader does not distort the writer’s words. Therefore, all readers must agree on a particular interpretation of a work. Critical reader adopts active reading that helps them gain a clear understanding of reading purposes.
Determining Your Purpose
Before starting a reading, we should ask ourselves (https://youtu.be/93eA7cttZCM ) some questions about our purpose – why we are reading. This question helps us to understand what information we get after reading.
Previewing
When we preview (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vu2IhqBFgPU ), we try to get a sense of the writer’s main idea in writing, key point, and general emphasis. Preview can be focused on the title, the first paragraph, (purpose statement, and the last paragraph (maybe summary). We may find some clues to the writer’s message in a passage with visual signs (headings, boldfaced, table, photo, bulleted list, etc.). Verbal signs are (look for words such as in addition, first, because, for example, similarly, although, in fact, etc.). After previewing, we must get a general sense of the writer’s message writing. After reading and re-reading, we find a gap between the writer’s idea and our thought in writing. Many readers highlight and annotating while reading.

When we highlight, we put a mark with colour in the text. We may underline or circle unrelated words, draw a vertical line in the margin or put an arrow to connect related points.

Annotating assists to put our comments in writing using. Annotating helps us to find out the main point, and purpose of writing. It helps to find out confusing parts, major findings, words we don't understand etc. It assists to argue the writer’s points and suggests possible statements based on our experiences.
