Writing (page 146)
A. Meet Singh says Jugga a badmash. There can be such people in your locality, too. Write a paragraph describing him / her.
There is a badmash in my locality as Meet Singh talks about Juggs in the novel. The badmash of my locality is very famous due to his bad behaviours. He often tells false things to his neighbours and takes the money from them which he never pays back to them. So, he is deceitful in his manners who is not so tall but lanky and weak. Everybody in my locality is cheated by him with many false promises. He takes money with promise of doing work but never works for them. Instead of doing work to repay the money, he drinks with that money and speaks nosily in the village. During the night time, he often gets drunk and walks in street making threatening to politicians. He also quarrels with his family members at night so they take shelter in their neighbours’ house.
B. You may have travelled by bus or train. During your travel, you might have got different experiences. Write a letter to your friend describing your unforgettable journey.

Dear Samikshya,
I got your letter this morning and knew that you are fine there along with other members of the family. Today, I am writing a short paragraph about my travelling experience that I cannot forget in my life.
It was my time of going abroad. I was called to Kathmandu with my passport. When I reached there, I found 14 others were in my group for whom the manpower agency had already got a bus ticket to Sunauli, a border of India. We reached there by bus in the morning and refreshed at a hotel. After taking food, we departed for Delhi because our flight was from Indira Gandhi International Airport. We were set in a group of four people while crossing the border. After crossing the border, we got on the bus that was waiting for us. It was a bus journey of nearly 24 hours because we were taken not from the main road but using an illegal route. After travelling nearly three hours, somebody stopped the bus and asked something from the driver. An unknown person with a pistol at hand entered inside our bus and asked us to stand from our seats. He checked our bodies and searched everything. We had some money in our pocket that was snatched by that man. We asked our agent who was also with us but he ignored it. After collecting our money, the man got off the bus and we were allowed to move ahead. Due to this event, all of us were afraid and worried. Our bus again stopped at around 9 pm in a small village. There was a tea shop that had no light and food items but some bread and potato curry. We were pretty hungry so we ate some bread. While eating, we had the remembrance of the day event so we requested the driver not to stay late in such a place. At midnight, we stopped nearby a local police station. A police officer called us down from the bus and searched our bodies. Luckily, nobody had our passports with us. He found nothing from us but asked where we were going. We replied that we were going for labour work in many places in India. Other police staff were talking to keep us in custody for verification. When I heard them talking, my dream of going abroad was almost ruined. But one of the officers let us go from there. We felt great relief when we departed from there. The next day, it was noon when we got down from the bus in a crowded city called ‘Delhi’ and our agent called a tempo. We got on it and reached the hotel.
Therefore, it was my bitter experience of travelling by bus in India which is not safe to travel like in Nepal. Now, I stop my writing, more in next. Take care
Your friend,
Sagar Limbu
