Writing I: Wedding Ceremony
How do people celebrate wedding ceremonies in your culture? Write a short description.
In my culture, wedding ceremonies are rich in tradition with multiple days, filled with rituals, music, dance, and feasting. The celebration begins with matchmaking and engagement, followed by pre-wedding festivities like the Mehendi. On the wedding day, the groom arrives in a procession called Janti, and the couple performs sacred rituals around a holy fire. The bride's family gives her away in a ceremony known as Kanyadaan. The groom applies sindoor to the bride's forehead and ties a mangal sutra around her neck. Post-wedding rituals include the Saptapadi, where the couple takes seven steps around the fire, and the emotional Vidaai, where the bride leaves her parental home. The event concludes with a grand reception, uniting both families in celebration.
