 Critical Thinking

a.      Is the hyperloop the future of transportation or just a dream? What do you think? Justify your opinion with suitable reasons.

I think the hyperloop is the future of transportation, whenever high-speed land transport is mentioned, the famed Japanese 'Shinkansen,' also known as the bullet train, comes to mind. Running since 1964, the mighty rail has continuously challenged its competition. However, in 2013, Elon Musk, one of the greatest inventors of the 21st century, put forth a new technologically advanced mass transport system called the Hyperloop. Hyperloop is envisioned not just to cut down travel times drastically between cities, but also to be cost-effective and more environmentally friendly than other transport systems currently used worldwide. Hyperloop consists of pneumatic steel tubes that transport pods to carry people from one end of the tube to another – all at supersonic speeds. The exciting part is that the pod practically floats inside the tubes and levitates from the ground by just a few centimeters. Hyperloop isn't just about speed; it also aims to be environmentally friendly.

It may be the transportation mode of the future if inventors and innovators succeed in their endeavors. Finally, nothing stands in our way when we set out to achieve a goal. So, I believe that there is great potential for the hyperloop to be the future of transportation.

b.     The number of private vehicles is increasing day by day in Nepal beyond the capacity of our infrastructure. What do you think should be done to curb the ever-growing number of private vehicles? Discuss.

Private car and vehicle usage in Nepal is outpacing the country's infrastructure. The number of Nepalis who own personal cars is steadily increasing. Even though they save time and privacy, the increased pollution, traffic congestion, and car accidents that arise from their use are harmful to the environment. More and more individuals can now afford their cars thanks to rising gas prices. However, the shoddy road infrastructure can't keep up with the increasing number of cars. Natural resources may be degraded by utilizing unneeded natural resources such as gasoline, petrol, and so on. Private cars should be prohibited since their widespread usage degrades the environment and increases emissions of hazardous gases that will create major problems in the future. We must prioritize public transportation over private automobiles and reduce the number of private cars on the road. To protect natural resources for future generations, we should drive less.

To begin with, local governments should impose restrictions on the usage of outdated personal cars. New roads need to be built or old ones extended. The government must take the lead in promoting public transit usage. This is something that authorities and members of the public should be concerned about. As a result, fewer people will own private automobiles. Wide roadways assist to alleviate some of the traffic congestion. Finally, public transit, such as the bus, train, and so on, should be promoted. To make this happen, the government and the people must work closely together. To prevent an increase in the number of cars and the resulting negative effects, effective management is required. It's almost impossible to keep individuals from buying and utilizing personal cars.
